Said Mansouri founded a duo formation "Ballades á deux" with the pianist Seongyeong Bae.

They also perform together with a jazz combo.

Biography

Seongyeong Bae (*1998 in Changwon, South Korea) began playing the piano at the age of five. After graduating from Kyungnam Arts High School, she completed her bachelor’s degree at Keimyung University in 2021. Since 2022 she has been studying at the University of Music and Dance Cologne (Aachen campus) with Prof. Andreas Frölich.

At an early age, she won numerous national competitions in South Korea. When she began her studies in Germany, she also became active internationally. In 2022 she took part in the Summer Academy at the Mozarteum Salzburg and performed in the prizewinners’ concert as well as the opening concert of “MozArte 2022” in Aachen.

In 2023, she participated in the Piano Loop Academy in Croatia, gave a solo recital as part of the pianists’ series there, and won first prize (100/100 points) at the Laszlo Spezzaferri International Piano Competition in Verona. She also performed at the Ruhr Piano Festival in Essen and at the gala concert at the Berlin Konzerthaus marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Germany.

Further concerts have taken her to Dortmund, Bochum, Munich (Herkulessaal), Cologne, and Salzburg, among others. In August 2023, she won as a soloist at the Paris Music Festival and in November as a piano duo at the Brigitte Kempen Competition.

At the turn of the year 2023/24 she gave concerts in several cities as part of a scholarship from the Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation. In spring 2025 she will be a soloist in the concert series “Best of NRW”.
